5 of 6 people found the following review helpful LEGO tries to come up with something to entice us big kids, By = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Lego Sopwith Camel (Toy) The LEGO sets I was always collecting were the castle sets, which I would combine to make not only bigger castles but more realistic castles. I have also been to the Mall of America were the LEGO store has wonderful displays of what you can do with thousands and thousands of LEGO blocks. It is in that spirit that LEGO has come up with the LEGO Sopwith Camel. This is not your traditional LEGO product; there are less pieces than you would think because they are so many bigger pieces. This is not a LEGO product (like their train set for e.g.) where you can let creativity reign. You pretty much have to make the Sopwith Camel and it is a pretty good looking Sopwith Camel for one made out of LEGOs, which means it will appeal more to the LEGO fan than the student of World War I aviation. 1 of 2 people found the following review helpful Tough Little Build, By BrotherSpider "Spider" (The Order of the Eternal Broken Nose) - See all my reviews = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Lego Sopwith Camel (Toy) This is not the biggest set i've done but it isn't the easest either. there are only 600+ pieces in this set but i've cursed even more at it alreadyit is a nice bi-plane vintage WWI witha a lot of color to it. and while building it do pay attention to the color. the dark gray looks like light great and the black looks like dark grey in the book. and here is the kicker....and i don't know why it is. the yellow looks like biege in the book. several times i thought i was missing pieces. KEEP looking, they are there. there are a LOT of details that i wouldn't have thought of in creating this plane. there are four strings for elevator wires and six to"hold up" the wings. this is a fun build. i do recomend it. but plan on going back and redoing a lot of mistakes you make |
