This product is great! Lego has perfectly blended the durability and reusability of legos with the skill and detail of a model. It took me three nights to assemble this model and it looks fantastic, just like the y-wing from episodes 4-6. Plus if I get bored or am looking for something to do on a rainy day...I can take it apart (or throw it against the wall, that's what's so great about legos) and start over. What model can you do that with? No messy glue, paint or equipment. I have been able to pick this set up move it around and hand it to others to look at, an engine will some times come off or a piece pop out while being handled but it is soooo easy to just put back on

5.0 out of 5 stars One cool set!, October 11, 2006

I always loved the Y-wing and this set is awsome. This set will take you about 3 hours of non-stop building to complete it. (Hint: make the engine parts at the same time, they are identical.) The stand makes a nice display as well. If you like Legos, Star Wars, and Y-wings, you'll love this. The only bad side is there is no pilot, and it's not designed to hold one. But I think it would take me about 10 miutes to come up with something that would work great.

Note: This is not a set designed to be played with. It is rather large and rahter heavy. They aren't kidding when they say 14+ on the age.

I really enjoyed building this model. I normally pick the Ultimate Collector Series as they are more complicated. I'd prefer an old car but don't have a garage. The set is a bit pricey, but the end result is worth it for a Star Wars fan.
