There are a number of pieces that absolutely refuse to stay together. Some of the pieces are formed such that placing them in the correct position causes tension that causes them to 'spring' apart when bumped even slightly. Half of the time constructing a section is less like putting together the LEGO blocks that inspired this and more like balancing the pieces on top of one another and hoping they won't pop apart before you add the next piece. 41 of 46 people found the following review helpful VERY nice for the price, = Durability: = Fun: = Educational: This review is from: Mega Bloks King Arthur Battle Action Castle (Toy) While hardcore building block enthusiasts might balk at the large pre-built sections, King Arthur's castle is a very nice balance of pieces and playability that can appeal to both young children (8+) and collectors. Lots of nice details, like a fireplace, food items, blacksmith's anvil, and a hunting hound add to what is otherwise a nicely designed (but unexceptional) fantasy medieval set. The Round Table included is a beautiful piece, but it has a very interesting assortment of names gilded on it--opting to include many of the lesser knights while ommitting some of the more prominant ones. Odd, but cool looking. The knight figures included have a remarkable degree of detail and flexibility/posablity (many points of articulation), and their interchangeable accessories all fit tightly. The "battle action" feature was novel, but didn't really add much for me and my kids (although it does allow the little figurines to fight much easier). The griffon was a standard... We have bought a Lego set for every birthday and Christmas for the last 5 years. I bought this because it was a great deal on Amazon and I thought it was comparable to Legos. IT IS NOT. My 9 year old (who can put together the most complicated Lego sets without help) had a hard time putting this set together. The pieces don't fit together right so he would try to squeeze them together and a whole section of the castle would break apart. It looks great now that it is put together but it as soon as it gets taken apart that will be the end. They will never try to put it back together again - it was too frustrating for them. Stick with Lego's! |
