Amazon.com Review

With the City Airport Fire Truck, kids can keep their pretend airport passengers safe from dangerous accidents. As a part of Lego's City line, which lets younger kids imaginatively explore the devices and roles they see in our civic life, the City Airport Fire Truck set comes with 148 pieces and a full-color, illustrated instruction booklet that diagrams model construction in 24 steps. The completed truck has side compartments for an axe and nozzle, and inside the truck body is room for a removable oxygen tank and mask for the set's firefighting minifig. The truck's top-mounted fire hose moves up, down, and side-to-side. Inside the box you'll find three parts bags, a sheet of three decals, and a base plate for the truck's frame. Also included is an illustrated block inventory with part numbers, in case you need to ever re-order a replacement block. --Porter B. Hall

Editorial

When the alarm sounds, grab your helmet and rush to the rescue! The airport fire truck is ready for any emergency. This 148-piece set contains everything that the included mini firefighter figure needs to leap into action. Pop on the smoke helmet and head to the scene on four smooth-rolling wheels. Once there, the fire hose lifts and pivots from the center of the truck to battle blazes in any direction. Open the side doors to store tools like axes and extinguishers, and mount the walkie-talkie on the side for quick communication with other rescue workers. An instruction booklet includes detailed color diagrams for assembling the fire truck, although small parts mean that younger ones may need assistance with construction. Once assembled, the bright yellow truck can careen down hallways and provide plenty of opportunity for imaginative play. This playset may be combined with other Lego City sets (sold separately) to create a custom Lego metropolis. --Heather Lyndon

I just recently got back into Legos with my 2 young children. I loved Legos as a kid and had been away for many years. This was one of the first new kits we bought and we loved it. Airport fire trucks are unique, and this kit was no disappointment. The minifig it comes with is great. The construction was simple enough for my 4 year old to follow, but interesting enough for me to enjoy. I recommend it, great kit.

This is a cool rig for airport guys, has their yellow fire truck color with the fire hose cannon. Easy to build and looks cool. Great addition to airplane/airport collections.

A very unique item. My son loves it but it's a poor value. The thing is less than 6 inches.
