The UCS sets are stunning in a whole and great for display. While they are not as durable as a hasbro solid plastic shuttle, "battle damage" is alot easier to repair with legos ;). I am a 27 year old man, and had little trouble assempling the set, it just required proper preperation! Without a doubt this is the largest Lego I have ever built. But darn it, this thing is so cool.I can't think of a single other Lego kit that is cooler than this one. The detail is amazing, the kit looks fantastic built. In fact, it is probably one of the more "lifelike" kits. Lifelike is a manner of speaking, it looks so much like the images in the Star Wars films. The detail is fantastic. The two wings have a crank on the back to raise and lower them. The cockpit opens and closes. The stand is impressive. This is not a particularly difficult build. A big table is critical, once the subassemblies start coming together this takes up a lot of space. Thank goodness Lego has done a great job organizing the bags of parts. It's pretty easy to find the correct part out of the five bazillion parts in this kit. There are four instruction books. This a something that you will want to display. It is not one that can be played with as the pieces will come off. It was relatively easy as lego finally put like pieces together in each bag, which removes the annoyance of hunting for pieces.Only compliant is - As with all the Star Wars legos sets, it's hard to distinguish between the gray, dark gray and black pieces in the instructions manual. I'm looking forward to seeing Legos' next Collector's Star Wars Set. |
